Easter Week

These days it seems like we get to celebrate major holidays for about a week, instead of just a day. Easter was no exception for us. Justin kicked it off with his preschool egg hunt and party from which he came home wearing these! Now I thought he was absolutely adorable in these ears, but Nazar seemed to think they were a bit too girly for Justin, but were okay for Dawson!

Saturday morning both boys participated in our church Easter egg hunt which Justin thourouly enjoyed, Dawson not so much!

Sunday we spent the afternoon at Grandma's and Grandpa's House where the boys were able to hunt for eggs again! Also Grandma made baskets full of surprises and treats for both Justin and Dawson!

Tuesday we finished up the holiday by celebrating with Nazar's family at our house with yet another Easter egg hunt, more Easter baskets, and an Easter dinner! (Sorry, by the time we got to Tuesday I already had about 55 Easter pictures so I didn't take anymore!) Overall we had a wonderful holiday! Just this morning Justin asked me if it was still Easter and when I told him it was over he said, "but Mommy, I love Easter!"

So Sweet!

After having an amazingly good day with Justin today, I was a little bit disapointed when I heard him coming downstairs when he was supposed to be napping. I called to him before I could see him, and told him to go back to bed. His response, "but mama, I've got to tell you somethin!" I asked him what and he holds up his little blue wooden Thomas train, one that has been MIA for weeks and tells me very excitedly, "Jesus helped me find Thomas! He told me to look in the bucket, and I saw him!" Wow can that kid melt my heart!

Story Time with Grandpa

Last weekend my parents came over for dinner, which always excites Justin to no end! Well the excitment must have tuckered both Justin and Grandpa out because after dinner during story time they both dozed off! Very normal for Grandpa, not so much for Justin!

Insomnia

Yep, note the time of this post. It's almost 1 am and after lying in bed for over an hour, I have decided that my occasional insomnia is paying me a visit. Luckily this is not a chronic thing for me, (my heart goes out to anyone who does suffer from this) but it still frustrates me to no end when it does happen. Tomorrow's going to be a long day! Since I'm up, I thought I'd make good use of my quiet time and write a quick post. When I first started this blog, my intention was to have a place to post cute stories and pictures of the boys. Now, I think I want to expand upon this a little. I've decided that I'm also going to use this as a place to clear my head a little of the five billion things that are constantly running through my mind. Since I stay at home with our two small boys, I don't often get the opportunity to share my thoughts and ideas the way I might were I working all day with adults, so I've decided to let it all out here! Now I'm not sure what this may mean sometimes, it might get a little weird, but hopefully those of you who actually do read this (dad) can handle it, and not think less of me! For example today has been one of those rocky days (hence the insomnia) where no matter what I tell myself I can't talk myself out of the cranky mood I'm in. I've been irratable and impatient with the boys for no reason, and that has caused me to feel guilty which has led to me to feel even more irratable. Most days I love my life and wouldn't trade it for anything. I know that I have been blessed beyond measure, but today that knowledge still didn't cheer me up. Luckily however, a bunch of girlfriends and I went out to dinner tonight, and that did the trick. There's something theraputic about being with other women who completely understand your day to day life because theirs is so similar. Going out with the girls always gives me a little perspective and help me love and appreciate what I have! Thank goodness for girl friends!

Unconventional Holster!

This picture doesn't do justice to how funny this really was, but I'll try to share anyway! The other day Justin was running around the house with his Buzz LightYear gun tucked into the back of his pants, and underwear. Now try to imagine him running and the gun was bouncing up and down, eventually causing his pants to fall down. Each time he lost his pants, he was so distressed and kept asking me why it wasn't working? I tried to explain to him that it would probably work better if he tucked the gun into the side of his pants instead, but he just kept insisting that the gun goes in the back. That's how Buzz wears it!

Just Me And The Boys

With the addition of our second son Dawson to our family last year, I'm completely outnumbered. At times it seem like life is just one big noisy, dirty, wrestling match! But really I couldn't be more happy! Justin and Dawson are so much fun (most of the time!) It's been so fun to watch them grow and develop. In an attempt to share our stories and pictures with those of you who are interested, I'm starting my first blog. My plan is to keep you updated on what's going on in our lives, but I reserve the right to slack off every now and then! After all I do have a 3 year old and a 1 year old!
